You grew a great crop. Now let's make sure the IRS doesn't harvest it. Cash Crop CFO is a cannabis-only accounting, tax and fractional CFO firm for licensed operators who want clean books, airtight COGS and a Schedule III plan that actually fits their license.
Example only. Your allocation method depends on your facts.
Medical moved to Schedule III in April 2026. Adult-use didn't. If you hold both licenses, how you split shared costs may now be one of the biggest numbers on your return.
What changedWe speak seed-to-sale, not generic small business. If you hold a cannabis license, are applying for one or serve those who do, you're in the right place.
Indoor, greenhouse and outdoor. Grow-room cost pools, harvest batches and inventory that ties to Metrc.
Extraction, infusion and packaging. Production costing, yield tracking and COGS that holds up.
Retail and delivery. Cash controls, POS reconciliations, sales and cannabis excise tax filings.
Multiple licenses, entities or states. Intercompany, consolidations and medical vs adult-use splits.
Brands, management companies, landlords and service providers that work alongside plant-touching operators.
Your crop makes cash. We make sure you keep it.
Cannabis is the only industry where getting the accounting wrong can double your tax bill. Most of the damage comes from a handful of very fixable problems.

No. Cash Crop CFO is an accounting, tax and fractional CFO firm. We don't hold ourselves out as a CPA firm. If your situation calls for an attested audit or a specific credential (for example, a state license application that requires CPA-audited statements), we'll tell you up front and can coordinate with the right firm.
Only partly, and it depends on your license. As of mid-October 2026, state-licensed medical cannabis has moved to Schedule III, so 280E generally no longer applies to that activity. Adult-use cannabis is still Schedule I and still subject to 280E. If you hold both, how you split shared costs matters a lot. Read the plain-English guide.
We're 100% virtual and work with licensed operators and ancillary businesses nationwide. State rules (cannabis excise taxes, local taxes, licensing reports) vary, so we'll confirm fit for your state on the first call.
Never. We provide accounting, tax and advisory services only. We don't touch, grow, sell or transport cannabis.
QuickBooks Online for the books, plus exports from your seed-to-sale system (Metrc, BioTrack and similar) and your POS. If you're on something else, tell us and we'll talk it through.
A 20-minute call. We ask how you're licensed, how your costs are allocated today and where your books live, then take a quick look and tell you what we'd prioritize. No cost, no obligation, and no promises about tax outcomes until we've actually done the work.
Twenty minutes, no cost, no pressure. Tell us how you're licensed and how your costs are allocated today, and we'll tell you what we'd look at first.
